Three Stages of Frailty
Frailty is a common biological syndrome of aging. Currently, no universally accepted model or definition of frailty exists. Clinical frailty identifiers of grip strength, weight loss, low physical activity (kcals), slow walk and exhaustion have been proposed.
Prehabilitative Exercise Training
The negative effects of obesity on the respiratory system, and deconditioning of muscles responsible for respiratory effort are well documented. This project will investigate if respiratory exercise training can improve exercise tolerance, quality of life and surgical outcomes
Men’s Healthy Eating and Active Living
The second project, Men’s Healthy Eating and Active Living (M-HEAL), will be conducted in two communities and include initiatives tailored for northern men.
