PROJECT ABSTRACT

Partnerships will be established between UBCO, Interior Health and leaders in Aboriginal Services to achieve the following results:

Conduct an environmental scan and literature review on mental health and substance use (MHSU) service models that incorporate Aboriginal models of health.

Develop a menu of options of evidence-based or promising practice models of MHSU services tailored to be responsive to Aboriginal client needs.

Provide recommendations to Aboriginal Health Services to support MHSU service integration through policy and program development by Interior Health with Aboriginal community partners.

The results of this project will lead to a CIHR research proposal to evaluate a new model of MHSU services with Aboriginal clients.
