2019 Annual Meeting – May 20, Kelowna

The Regional Alliance for Rural Health hosted their annual meeting on May 29, 2019 in Kelowna.  The Alliance Chair, Dr. Barbara Jean Buckley from Thompson River University, led a strategic planning and priority setting discussion to guide activities of the Regional Alliance for Health Research over the next year. Highlights include following up with communities the Alliance has consulted with, identifying synergies with other groups in British Columbia who are also interested in rural health, and using grant funding opportunities to support the work of the Alliance.

2018 Annual Meeting – May 30, Nelson

This year’s Alliance annual meeting takes place in Nelson BC, the day before the Building Intersections Conference. Our special guest is the former Executive Director of the Australian National Alliance for Rural Health www.ruralhealth.org.au Dr. Lesley Barclay. An anticipated 45 people from the eleven partner organizations and strategic rural community partners will meet together to build and continue research collaborations, strengthen networks and to develop a strategic plan

 2017 Annual Meeting – June 12, Merritt

The 2nd organizational meeting of the Regional Alliance for Rural Health partners was held at the Nicola Valley Institute of Technology in Merritt on June 12, 2017.

Over 25 participants from all 11 organizations came together to jointly review and finalize Alliance core documents such as the Memo of Understanding and the Terms of Reference. Future regional research projects were discussed and relationships were strengthened.

2016 Inaugural Meeting – November 24, Castlegar
A successful inaugural meeting of the Regional Alliance for Rural Health was held in Castlegar at the Applied Research and Innovation Centre of Selkirk College. Over 20 participants from the 7 initial founding organizations met to develop relationships, form research discussion groups, and to participate in a structured Strategic Doing session.
