Mental health experiences among rural older adults

UBC Okanagan MSN Graduate, and IHLCDP Associate, Lauren Airth investigated the experiences of adults aged 50 and over living with a mental health concern in Similkameen, BC in a photovoice project (Supervisor, Dr. Nelly Oelke). Adults over the age of 50 are more likely to develop mental health issues, making this research important in guiding efforts to promote the wellbeing of the growing elderly populations in rural communities. She was interviewed about her research by the Rural Health Services Research Network of BC.
