IHLCDP Associate, Dr. Mary Jung is leading a new SSHRC funded project to expand the reach of a diabetes prevention program through the national YMCA platform to enhance accessibility during COVID-19 and beyond. Other members of this team include: Ms Sharon Peterson, CEO at the YMCA of Okanagan (collaborator), YMCA of Greater Vancouver (Partner) and Dr. Corliss Bean, Assistant Professor, Recreation and Leisure Studies, Brock University (co-applicant). This project was one of seven projects led by UBC researchers who together receiving $174k through Partnership Engage Grants COVID-19 Special Initiative.
