ABSTRACT: Many stroke survivors have poor control of chronic disease risk factors. This has contributed to a high incidence of secondary events after stroke. Given the increasing prevalence of stroke survivors, new approaches to modify behavioural risk factors are warranted. This presentation will detail the issues of secondary prevention, as well as ongoing and future research to minimize secondary events after stroke.
